The Public Service Commission (PSC) has refuted claims it has employed former Royal Media Services journalist Jacque Maribe.

Maribe is currently working as the head of communication in the Ministry of Public Service headed by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.

Her appointment comes in the wake of her acquittal in Monica Kimani's murder case which had gone on in court for almost six years

In a press release issued Thursday, however, the Commission disowned the appointment clarifying it had no involvement in the recruitment to the position.

"For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise," the statement attributed to Commission chair Anthony Muchiri reads.

The statement by PSC followed reports by the CS confirming the appointment.

“Kuria is quoted to have said that "it is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission,” it adds.

Speaking last Sunday days after assuming the job, Maribe attributed her success to being truthful adding that "God is revealing himself in her new appointment".

"The truth, which always sets us all free, has worked and I thank God for everything. Let us wait and see if the hand of God is revealing itself in my new appointment," Maribe told Nation.
