President William Ruto has urged Kenya Kwanza leaders to cease from 2027 politics and instead focus on delivery.

While in Naivasha, Ruto told the leaders to be different and focus on implementing the Kenya Kwanza manifesto.

The Head of State emphasized that changing the destiny of our nation will be done by focusing on the next generation.

"We have a manifesto that I believe, if implemented, and when implemented, it can transform Kenya," Ruto said on Monday.

"I know there is always a temptation to do what politicians do. And that is to focus on the next election. I want to urge you: let's do what leaders would do, let's focus on the transformation of our country."

Politicians have started early campaign and lobbying talks, three years ahead of the 2027 polls.

Some Ukambani leaders have already urged Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka to traverse the country and campaign for the presidency.

The politicians said the former vice-president is ripe for the country's top job, insisting that 2027 will be his time.

They vowed to aggressively campaign for Kalonzo's presidential bid.

A group of Murang’a leaders have also expressed their endorsement for Kiharu Member of Parliament Nyoro to serve as the deputy to President William Ruto in the 2027 general election.

Wiper leader Kalonzo is also of the view that the Azimio la Umoja Coalition should agree on the 2027 lineup this year.

Already, Democratic Action Party of Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa also declared interest in the presidential 2027 race.

Former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has also declared that he will run for the presidency in the 2027 general elections.

The ODM deputy leader refuted claims that he was eying a local seat in Mombasa, saying that he was done with local politics and was now focused on the country’s top seat.

“People were telling me that in the next general election, I should vie for a local seat, I want to tell them I am done with Mombasa politics I am now focusing on national politics," he said.

“Who told you that if you are born in Mombasa you cannot become president of the Republic of Kenya? I want to make it clear that I will be in the presidential race come 2027,” Joho said.
