Today, students at Alliance Girls High School were greeted with an outpouring of love from their teachers as they celebrated Valentine's Day by receiving flowers.
In the ceremony organised by the school's principal, the girls exchanged pleasantries with the teaching fraternity.
Addressing the media, the school's chief principal Jedida Mwangi, urged the students to love themselves as they commemorate Valentine's Day.
"I want to emphasize that they should love themselves when they have challenges, they should look out for somebody who they can share with," she said, referring to the students.
"A problem shared is a problem half-solved."
The event was filled with lively music and included a ceremonial cake-cutting, during which teachers shared words of wisdom and encouragement with the girls.
Mwangi went further to assure parents at home that they are taking care of the girls by offering them guidance and counselling to ensure that they are stable.
"In school, we offer guidance and counselling so we can remind them to love themselves. Most of our girls are stable," Mwangi said.
She highlighted that the goal of the institution is to make the students successful not only in academics, but also in shaping their character.
Valentine's Day, observed on February 14 of every year, is mostly recognised as a day of love and romance.
