Police are looking for a group of people who hacked and killed a 49-year-old man in a land dispute in a village in Kinango, Kwale county.

The incident happened in Nguliku village where Mumbo Kaphutsa Chiti was slashed and stoned to death by people known to him, police said.

Witnesses and police said the attack is linked to a land dispute in the area.

The police arrived at the scene where the man had died and moved his body to the mortuary pending autopsy and arrest of known suspects.

Cases of land disputes are on the rise in the area amid calls to solve them amicably.

Elsewhere in Athi River, Machakos county, police are investigating the murder of a man whom residents reported that they stumbled on his body at a dumpsite in the area.

Police established that the deceased was killed elsewhere and dumped at the said scene since there were no physical marks on the ground.

The body had a deep cut on the head, the face, and fresh blood oozing from the nose and was naked.

In Ramasha, Nyamira County, a 22-year-old man died after being hit by a stone in a domestic dispute.

Police identified him as Samwel Ongondo adding he was hit by the killer stone by his relative after a domestic dispute.

The motive of the attack remains unknown.

The victim sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

The suspect was later arrested pending interrogation and arraignment.

In Ruiru, Kiambu county, police said they are investigating the death of a 22-year-old woman after a night out.

The woman had gone out with her boyfriend to the Mirema Drive area and went back home when she developed unknown complications.

She was rushed to Ruiru subcounty hospital where she succumbed, police said.

Police said they are investigating the death.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
