Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has met the Minister for State and Parliamentary Affairs of India Shri V. Muraleedharan.
In a statement on his X account, Gachagua said Muraleedharan called on him for the meeting.
The meeting took place at the DP's official residence in Karen.
"Kenya and India enjoy cordial relations since establishing diplomatic contact prior to our nation's independence," he said.
The DP further said mutual trade and exchange relations continue to grow in a number of areas.
Some of the areas he said include education, health, science and technology, research, tourism and Agro-based industries, real estate and construction, and banking among others.
Muraleedharan commenced an official four-day visit to Kenya and Tanzania.
Before coming to Kenya, he visited Tanzania from November 20 to 21.
His visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations.
In a statement by the Indian government on Sunday, it said Muraleedharan is also supposed to meet several other Kenyan ministers and executives.
"He will also visit the University of Nairobi and interact with the Indian Diaspora living in Kenya. The minister will also inaugurate an exhibition in commemoration of the role played by Indian soldiers in East Africa during World War 1," the statement read.
