Lawyer Danstan Omari has opined that the Kenya Kwanza government still thinks that former President Uhuru Kenyatta is still in office as the Head of State.

Omari said it is why the ruling regime keeps blaming the former President whenever an issue of national concern arises.

The lawyer spoke on Monday during an interview with K24.

"It is like Kenya Kwanza were not present at Kasarani when former President Uhuru Kenyatta handed over the instruments of power. They still think Uhuru Kenyatta is the Head of State," Omari said.

"So, every issue that is talked about leads to Uhuru Kenyatta who handed over power."

He claimed Uhuru has been forced by Kenyans to come back to the political front due to the blame games from the Kenya Kwanza administration.

This comes after Uhuru on Sunday clapped back on the ruling regime for blaming him whenever things go wrong in the country.

The former President spoke on Sunday during a church service in Mwingi, Kitui.

He told the Kenya Kwanza government not to blame his administration for their failures.

He said the current government should instead address the problems facing Kenyans.

“Every time one is unable to do what he should do they blame the past government, [with this trend] even if the wife has refused to give birth it will be blamed on us, but we are used to this,” Uhuru said.

As former Head of State, Uhuru said, all he can do is to pray for Kenya and the unity of the nation.

“I had retired but I am praying for Kenya, I am praying for unity,” he said.

He was accompanied by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, Governor Wavinya Ndeti and her deputy Francis Mwangangi and other Azimio lawmakers.
