Interior PS Omollo calls for health inclusivity in NGAO

Internal Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has called for collaboration between National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) and health sector actors in addressing syndemic, neglected and disease outbreaks.

According to the PS, ensuring that every individual has access to the highest attainable standard of health and well-being is part of the NGAO mandate. 

"NGAO is a representative of the President at the local levels, and this initiative is important to our collective security," he said.

PS was speaking during the Drugs and Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) 20th Anniversary Charity Run and stakeholders event held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Kacheliba Sub-County, West Pokot County.

Omollo noted that the Kenya Kwanza government is keen on ensuring that all Kenyans receive good medical attention. 

"As the PS for Interior, we urge the leaders of the region to collaborate with others in order to ensure security is paramount as it is dependant on other factors."

Also in attendance was Ambassador to the French Embassy in Kenya Arnaud Suquet, Luis Pizarro, Executive Director, Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative.

Others are; the Kenyan race champion and DNDi Race Ambassador – Ambassador Tegla Loroupe, representatives from the Ministry of Health among other stakeholders.
