A 35-year-old man drowned in a family borehole as he drew water in a village in Borabu, Nyamira County.
The man identified as Clinton Obiero was in the process of fetching water from the borehole when he slid and drowned, police said.
The incident happened on Monday at about 5 pm. A fire brigade team from the county government arrived at the scene and helped to retrieve the body.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, the body of a woman who had been missing for three days was found in her house in Umoja, Nairobi.
Police said they found anti-biotic tablets beside the body of the 37-year-old woman when they broke into her house on Wednesday.
There were traces of blood oozing from her nose when the body was discovered.
A caretaker at the residential house had complained that he had not seen the woman for days prompting him and other neighbours to check on her house where they found the body.
They had to break into the house where they found the body, which had been on the bed for at least three days.
Police were called to the scene and helped to move the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and other processes.
Police handling the matter said they do not know if she died by suicide or as a result of the tablets she is suspected to have swallowed. No suicide note was recovered at the scene, police said.
In Ruiru, police said they are investigating an incident in which a 28-year-old man was found dead outside a bar.
The body of Elijah Mwaniki was found outside a bar while being rained on, police said.
Residents said he was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the death is yet to be known. The body is lying in a local mortuary.
In the Githurai Mwiki area, the body of one Margaret Wambui Mburu, 27 was found on her bed.
Police said the body had no visible injuries when it was found on Tuesday. The body had been on the bed for two days, residents said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Police said they are investigating the deaths.
