The attackers assaulted some members of the family and tortured others in the drama as they demanded cash and other valuables.

They later escaped. Police said they are investigating the motive. Suspicions are that the gang thought the family had money at the time of the attack.

This comes amid concerns the area around Keroka is experiencing a surge in crime. Locals have complained of an increase in crime and asked for action to stop the trend.

Police who visited the scene assured the family of swift action to tame the trend and arrest the gangs behind the same.

The gang went to the home of a business lady in the area and gained access by cutting the window grill.
