Graduate Mercy Tarus from the Finland education program fiasco has called on youth to hold their leaders accountable when things go wrong.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Mercy said the youth should not be silent and watch as things go wrong in their country.

She came to the limelight recently for calling out Uasin Gishu leaders for failure to refund their money after the Finland education program failed.

"I want to talk to the youth, do not be silent. Your time is now. You cannot say you are leaders of tomorrow while you are watching matters in your country get out of hand," she said.

"Speak out. Speak your truth to power, they will listen."

Further, Mercy called on the county government of Uasin Gishu to refund the learners' money.

"Please, we are urging you to be accountable," she called on Uasin Gishu's leadership.

Mercy said she is hopeful for a better tomorrow. She said she is a leader today and will work to create a better Kenya.

"This is a rally of me telling you that I am a leader today and I will live to establish youth in this country to create a better country Kenya," she said.

Mercy on Wednesday called on President William Ruto to intervene in the Finland education fiasco.

"I would like to address his excellency as the President of Kenya, please fight for us," Mercy said.

She said the youth in Uasin Gishu are hurting and slowly sinking into depression.

Mercy said all the youth want is a refund of what they gave the county government.

"This government was meant to belong to hustlers. Now hustlers have gone out of their way to source some little money but some people took the money yet their children are abroad unlike us," she said.

She noted that she worked very hard to source money for the Finland education program by selling porridge and mandazis.

"Please, I plead to our President, don't remain silent in the wake of all this. We voted for you, please fight for us," Mercy called on the Head of State.
