New Life Prayer Centre Pastor Ezekiel Odero has thanked the government for allowing him to hold mega rallies across the country.

Speaking on Saturday during a mega rally at the Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi, the televangelist said the rallies are not for the benefit of New Life as a church but for the benefit of all.

He said the two days rally has brought together believers from within the country and beyond, including from Tanzania, Uganda and the US with some arriving as early as Wednesday.

He further disclosed that it costs millions to hold the mega rallies.

“We were in Kisii and we thank the government for allowing us to hold rallies to spread the gospel; God bless Kenya and the government,” he said.

He said the main reason for holding the mega rallies is deliverance and healing.

“Holding a mega rally is millions of shillings and when I say millions of shillings, ikiwa mtu mmoja atatafutwa aokoke tukitumia million kumi hiyo pesa ni bora itumike kuokoa mtu mmoja kwa sababu mtu mmoja anaweza kutumumika kuangamiza watu wengi na ukitumia milioni kumi kuokoa mtu mmoja umeokoa mabilioni ya watu,” he said.

This is loosely translated to mean ‘if it will take Sh10 million to look for one person to get saved then it better to use it because one person can destroy so many people, so that will help save billions of people”.

Last week, Odero's New Life Prayer Centre and Church opened a new branch in Mosocho, Kisii county as he expands his wings for evangelism.

The church is being moved from its original location in Suneka, Bonchari constituency to Mosocho.

On Saturday, Odero said he is opening a new branch of his New  Life Church in Kitengela, Kajiado county to cater for Nairobi residents.

Odero said they have acquired a 51-acre property where they are building the church that will be open in August.
