Four police officers have been accused of robbing a trader of money he earned from selling meat.

Details have emerged of how the four police officers trailed and robbed the trader of Sh373,000 in Nairobi moments after he had sold meat he ferried from Narok.

The officers were Friday arrested after they robbed the beef trader of cash in Kamukunji, Nairobi.

He had slaughtered his 12 cows and delivered the meat to Nairobi, which he sold to a butcher in Burma market.

Matatu driver dies at bus station

Police are investigating an incident in which a driver collapsed and died after taking lunch in Industrial Area, in Nairobi.

Police said they were informed Simon Kiptanui Rono, 64, collapsed at the Crown Bus Services Company offices after taking his lunch on Tuesday at about midday.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said they are investigating the sudden death. The body was moved to the mortuary.

Elsewhere, the body of a man identified as Samuel Kamotho was found on the roadside in Ngando area, Dagoretti.

The body was lying outside rental houses and it is not clear what caused the death.

Student shot dead 

A form-three student was Sunday, June 4, killed during a protest against persistent power blackouts in Wajir Town.

Police and witnesses said the victim Manaazil Adow Ahmed was shot and killed a few meters away from the local Kenya Power and Lighting offices where the protest occurred.

A section of locals had staged a protest in the town to condemn what they termed as long power blackouts, which have generally affected their businesses and lives.

They blocked the main road in the town lighting bonfires as they called on Kenya Power to act and restore reliable power supply there.

Arrow attack in Subukia

A 41-year-old man died after being attacked by an arrow during a stock theft in a village in Subukia, Nakuru.

Dedan Muthui had stepped out of his house on Monday morning to check on a commotion he had heard from a shed keeping his two goats.

Witnesses said the moment he opened the door and stepped out he was attacked with a poisonous arrow in the left armpit.

The attackers grabbed two goats that were in a shed and escaped, police said.

Cops die in an accident 

A police officer died while a second one was seriously injured after they were involved in an accident in Kaptarakwa area along Subukia-Solai road in Nakuru.

They were being ferried on a motorcycle when the accident happened on Saturday, (June 3) night, police said.

The rider was also seriously injured after the midnight incident.

The two officers attached to Mwitethia Patrol Base were on a motorcycle headed for Solai when the rider lost its control and landed into a ditch killing one on the spot.

Body found burnt Mwihoko 

Detectives are investigating the macabre murder of a Brazilian missionary whose burnt body was found in an abandoned car in Mwihoko area, Nairobi.

The body was later identified as that of Francisco Antonio Chages Barbosa, a Brazilian national who was a missionary at Corner Stone Intercommunity Church Utawala.

His body was found on Thursday morning at about 1 am by locals who called the police.

He had been reported missing at the Mihango police station in Kayole on June 7 at about 10 pm by his wife Franciane De Oliveira Barbosa.
