All eyes are on Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta as opposition leader Raila Odinga chairs a special Parliamentary Group[PG] meeting of all Azimio MPs.

Raila will lead the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya PG at the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Command Centre in Karen to strategise on how to oppose the Finance Bill, 2023.

The key meeting will also discuss the resumption of the stalled bipartisan talks with Kenya Kwanza amid fears they are on the verge of collapse.

Tuesday marks the end of the one-week ultimatum given by Azimio to their Kenya Kwanza counterparts to address a raft of stonewalling issues in the bipartisan talks.

The meeting will therefore review the status and decide if the talks will resume or if they will wait a little longer for the government to address their concerns.

The government side has already written to the Azimio leadership calling for the resumption of the talks.

Azimio co-principal Eugene Wamalwa has claimed that the Kenya Kwanza side is not keen to have the talks.

"Our counterparts in the Kenya Kwanza have not been serious about the talks and we have made it clear that if they shall not have made a commitment by Tuesday, the talks will stand dissolved," he said.

It is not clear if Uhuru, who was in Nigeria on Monday, had arrived in the country to attend the crucial session aimed at rallying opposition MPs together.

On Sunday, key Azimio leader said the Tuesday meeting will be attended by top coalition leaders including Uhuru.

During the PG, members will also be taken through the Finance Bill, 2023 which Raila has termed as punitive.
