Pauline Njoroge has thanked the Jubilee party leader Uhuru Kenyatta for nominating her to the National Executive Committee.

Njoroge was among the new officials nominated to replace rebel members who have joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

She was nominated as the deputy organising secretary for Jubilee party.

Njoroge said she will use the position to serve with diligence alongside other nominated members.

“Humbled! Thank you my party leader Uhuru Kenyatta for entrusting me with this position,” she said through her Twitter handle.

“Thank you Jubilee party members for your support. I commit to serve diligently and faithfully alongside other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC). Jubilee iko imara! Tusonge Mbele Pamoja,” she added.

The party's Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni on Monday announced that they will replace rebel members who have joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Those nominated include Jamleck Kamau (national director of elections), Maison Leshoomo (national women’s league chairperson), Agnes Thumbi (national youth league leader) and Nderitu Mureithi (business council leader).

Others are Beatrice Gabo (deputy party leader strategy), Maoka Maore (deputy party leader operations), David Manje (deputy party leader operations), Kados Muiruri (deputy party leader outreach), Saitoti Torome (chairman) and Yasin Noor (deputy secretary general).

On Saturday, Uhuru moved the delegates meeting from the historic Bomas of Kenya after his request was declined by the management, a clear signal from the state.

As party leader, Uhuru wields immense powers in the outfit, and it is widely held that changes at a meeting he chairs would have far-reaching implications.
