Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia has launched an education program worth Sh48 million that will see parents pay Sh2,000 per term for each student learning in public day secondary schools.

The launch of the program was held at Wanjohi mixed secondary in Nyandarua County and was attended by a host of leaders across the Country.

Speaking during the event, MP Wanjiku Muhia (host) rallied education stakeholders to support the program and urged parents to take advantage and take their children back to school.

Muhia stated that the program was part of an elaborate plan to revamp infrastructure in all-day schools across the constituency.

She noted that the NG-CDF education funds aim to cater for all fees with the parent only required to pay Sh2,000, down from Sh 15,000.

"Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be denied the opportunity to access quality education because of financial constraints. We aim to ensure that all students in the Kipipiri constituency have access to quality education, regardless of their socio-economic background," MP Wanjiku Muhia said.

She noted that the project will boost the primary to secondary transition rate and urged the parent and education stakeholders to work together to raise the standards of education in the Kipipiri constituency.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said the program is in line with the Kenya Kwanza government’s “bottom-up” mantra.

Ndindi expressed the government's support in promoting education standards across the Country.

He recalled that he also launched the same program dubbed Masomo Bora where he (Ndindi) enrolled all the day school students and parents are only paying Sh1,000 per term.

He urged the Kenyans to give Kenya Kwanza time to deliver on the campaign promises.

“The Kenya Kwanza administration is very much committed to promoting education across the Country and we are urging education stakeholders to work together in unity,” Ndindi said.

Kiambaa MP Njuguna Kawanjiku said the program will be a game-changer for many parents who had been struggling to pay for their children's education.

Other MPs who graced the event include Karungo Thangw’a (Senator Kiambu), George Koimburi (Juja), Beatrice Elachi (Ndagoreti North), Elijah Kururi (Gatundu North) and Gabriel Kagombe (Gatundu South among others.

The MPs praised MP Wanjiku Muhia for her visionary leadership and commitment to improving the lives of her constituent
