A Kakamega resident has said they are holding demonstrations in their hearts instead of taking to the streets.

Speaking on Monday, Benard, the resident said even though their streets are void of any protesters, it does not mean they don't support the demos.

Bernard urged President William Ruto to look into the high cost of living.

"Even though there is no crowd demonstrating on the roads, what is happening is that many Kenyans are demonstrating in their hearts because the cost of living and life is hard. The President should step in and help the people," Bernard said.

He said residents were not demonstrating because they want to avoid chaos.

"When you open the hearts of many they wish they could demonstrate on the roads but they want peace and not chaos," Bernard said.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga had declared weekly peaceful demos on Monday and Thursday over the high cost of living and opening of the IEBC server.
