Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu on Wednesday walked barefoot to the Senate floor to present her motion.

Before she could start her motion, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo raised a point of order to put a spot on her 'inappropriate'  dressing.

Some Twitter users defended her move of not wearing shoes during proceedings while others, condemned the act.

A Twitter user by the name Kiptoo said Nyamu should tell Kenyans whether she is a Senator or a Comedian.

"Umuhimu wa viatu kwa debate ni gani?" they asked.

Moments later Senate Speaker Amason Kingi summoned Nyamu to confirm if she had indeed presented her motion without shoes.

“The only way to confirm if indeed Senator Nyamu has no shoes is to allow her to approach the chair,” he said.

However, the speaker confirmed that she was well dressed after she wore her shoes and was allowed to proceed with her motion.

In February, she was kicked out of the Senate proceedings for being inappropriately dressed.

Nyamu had accessed the chambers in a sleeveless top, exposing her arms which is against the House rules.

The matter was petitioned by Migori Senator Eddy Oketch.

"I invite your attention to guide the House whether Senator Karen Nyamu is properly dressed," Oketch called the Speaker's attention.

He urged the Majority side to respect the rules of the House and Kenyans at large.
