KAA has advised the JKIA stakeholders to relocate their operations to terminal one within the stipulated period to allow smooth facilitation of Jill Biden's visit.
This will be Jill Biden's first visit to the country since her husband, Joe Biden, was elected the US President.
During her visit, she will meet and engage with those affected by drought and facing food insecurity.
“Then in Kenya, I will hear from those affected by the ongoing historic drought and food insecurity, which has been exacerbated by the ripple effects of Russia’s assault on Ukraine,” she said.
At a cost of Sh1.7 billion Terminal 2 at the JKIA was opened in April 2015 by Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
It was originally intended to relieve overcrowding.
The terminal houses international & domestic check-in desks and boarding gates.
Terminal 2 sits on 10,000 square meters. Fly 540, Sax, Jubba and African Air Express are some of the airlines that have already been operating from the new station.
