Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku has called out Azimio la Umoja for being outdated.

Speaking during an interview with K24, Ruku said the requirements of Kenyans don't match with what Raila and Azimio have been demonstrating.

"The needs of Kenyans are completely different from the needs which Raila and Azimio have in their minds," Ruku said on Wednesday.

"That's why they are coming up with these military kinds of outfits. That type of politics could probably work in the 1980s and 2000s."

Ruku also emphasized economic empowerment rather than having demonstrations run by Azimio.

"The young people of this country are talking about economic empowerment and how they are going to take their children to school," he said.

"We have to change this country economically and politically."

On February 5, Azimio held a meeting at Kamukunji grounds in Kibra.

The meeting was dubbed 'People's Baraza' and marked the third public rally that Raila has held this year.

The previous rallies were held on January 23 and 29 at Kamukunji and Jacaranda grounds respectively.
