The family of former Education CS George Magoha has gathered at the Lavington home in Nairobi, following his death.
His wife, Babra Magoha and son, Michael Magoha led other members of the family at the gathering.
Relatives and friends trooped to the home in Nairobi to condole with family following the death of the former Cabinet Secretary on Tuesday.
Guests signed a condolences book at the door of the house before being ushered inside where the widow, Barbara and Michael received them.
Some guests wailed uncontrollably as they arrived at the home to mourn with the family.
Portraits of the former Cabinet Secretary and trophies awarded to him for his achievements were put on display.
The family indicated they were expecting top government officials and players in the education sector to visit the home.
The death of the professor has been seen as a big loss and a blow to the education sector.
Magoha died on Tuesday at the age of 71 after a long and illustrious career in medicine, academia and public service.
His death was a double tragedy to the Magoha family coming as they were preparing to bury his brother Prof Richard Magoha who died in Texas on December 6. He was due for burial on Saturday.
His death also comes slightly over a year after the death of another brother who lived and worked in Stockholm, Sweden.
