Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has said 1,146 candidates attained a mean grade of A in the 2022 KCSE.
Speaking during the release of the KCSE results, Machogu said it was an increase as compared to 2021 results.
"Candidates that attained a mean of A in 2022 are 1,146 which is equivalent to 0.13 per cent as compared to 2012 which were 1,138," he said.
Machogu said 271 female students attained a mean grade of A.
"A total of 875 male students attained a mean grade of A, males have done better and I hope going forward, females will improve," he said.
Candidates can now access their results through the Kenya National Examination Council website.
Those using the portal are advised to head to the KCSE tab and select the year they sat the national exams and enter their Index number.
They can alternatively access the results on SMS platforms, county education offices and their respective schools.
For those using the SMS platform, the CS said parents, guardians and students should send their index number, followed by the initials KCSE (in capital letters) to 20076 to access the results.
