President William Ruto has weighed in on Baby Sagini Junior's torture that left him blind after his eyes were gouged out.

The president condemned the parents and guardians of Baby Sagini for failing to protect him.

While visiting a children’s home in Eldoret on Friday, Ruto pleaded with Kenyans to take care of all children.

“Please take care of our Children,” he said.

He said he is surprised that there are parents who risk the lives of their children instead of protecting them.

“We have seen that there is one parent in Kisii who has removed their child's eyes. It is a very shocking thing to do,” he said.

He asked what kind of devil possess a human to make them hurt an innocent little child and ruin their life.

“And when some parents hurt their children, we have good people like these (children’s home) who take in the children without parents and raise them. It really is a world of difference,” he said.

Ruto said that he will ensure that the Government implements the recently passed Children’s Bill that protects the rights of children.

“The government will put in place plans to ensure that no child in Kenya is brought up badly or is hurt or mistreated either by parents or by anyone. The Kenyan government will protect its children,” he said.
