Varsity student wins Sh200 million mega jackpot

Christmas has come early for 22-year-old Eli Kipruto, after winning the Betika Mega Jackpot worth Sh200 million. 

Kipruto is said to have placed a bet with just Sh49. 

Betika made the announcement on their official social media accounts. 

Kipruto becomes the first winner of the Betika Mega Jackpot and the young man could not hide his joy while receiving the dummy cheque.

“I’ve never lost hope because I bet for entertainment. This money is going to change my life and my entire family. I think this is what they call Generational Wealth,” Kipruto said.

Betika has revealed that Kipruto, who is also a student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology pursuing an IT course will receive financial guidance from the company on how to manage his winnings.

“I’m very grateful to Betika for this jackpot and for offering me a financial adviser because to be honest, I haven’t figured out what to do with the money yet. It hasn’t sunk in yet that I no longer have money problems, just how to spend it,”  Kipruto said.

Betika’s senior product manager Kent Kagicha congratulated Kiprotich for his winning and termed him a lucky man.

"The odds were in your favour, and even when one game was postponed and the outcome had to be decided through a public draw, the outcome was still in your favour. We are so happy for you," Kagicha said.
