Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday held talks with representatives from the Dawoodi Bohra community.
The Bohra community representatives donated Sh1o million to the ongoing drought mitigation interventions by the government.
"We recognize the role they play in the country's economic development as an astute business community serving with diligence," Gachagua said after the meeting.
The Dawoodi Bohras were led by Sheikh Husain Hebatullah and Sheikh Qureish Zakir.
They were accompanied by businessmen and members of Faculty from Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah (Nairobi Campus).
Gachagua said he also engaged them on the importance of mentoring the youth to participate in economic development and leadership.
The Dawoodi Bohras are a Muslim community.
