State will firmly deal with banditry in North Rift – Kindiki

The CS said the banditry happening would very easily constitute crimes against humanity.

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure has said the government is out to stop banditry to bring development to the Northern part of the country. 

Kindiki said the banditry happening would very easily constitute crimes against humanity.

"The government is deploying multifaceted, multifront and multiagency response to the challenge and the problem of banditry," Kindiki said.

Addressing the media on Monday, Kindiki said they are privy to where the bandits have been retreating to and are out to dismantle the criminals.

Kindiki said they will not stop at that but will go further to dismantle the entire chain from financiers to those that buy the stolen livestock 

"The financiers, the spiritual supporters, the criminals, the benefactors, and the ones who purchase livestock stolen from fellow Kenyans," he said. 

Kindiki said the north must be opened up to development.
