Jumwa extends working hours for Huduma centres nationally

The ministry also plans to launch a model Subcounty Huduma Centre in partnership with NG-CDF

Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has announced the extension of Huduma centres working hours.

Jumwa said the eighteen centres will operate from 7 am to 7 pm. 

“In line with this, the ministry has commenced extending working hrs on a shift basis for the Huduma Contact Centre from 7 am to 9 pm,” she said. 

The ministry also plans to launch a model Subcounty Huduma Centre in partnership with NG-CDF, which will bring government services closer to Kenyans in rural areas. 

“We will launch 100 Huduma Mashinani outreaches across the country,” she said. 

Jumwa outlined what Kenyans should expect in the next 100 days.

The CS said she intends to launch an improved training programme on Huduma Kenya Standards and  Customer Service Excellence to capacitate staff with the required skills to serve customers better. 

“As part of the head of state directive, we also plan on launching a tree planting programme through Huduma Centre Adopt a ‘County-Forest’ targeting to plant 500 million trees in the next five years,” she said.
