Drama erupted on Wednesday at the Meru County Assembly after MCAs walked out on Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
In a video that's gone viral, the MCAs can be heard shouting "Hatutaki!" as they walked out.
Mwangaza was forced to give her speech outside the Chambers in what was expected to be the official opening of the assembly.
This comes after the MCAs suspended normal House business on Tuesday to discuss the governor's conduct.
Led by Speaker Ayub Bundi, the ward reps resolved to call her out saying she has been disrespectful towards them.
"The MCAs have agreed that they are not ready to listen to the governor during the address set for this afternoon,” Bundi said.
They also accused Mwangaza of failing to honour their summons, a claim she dismissed.
Mwangaza took to her Facebook page to share photos of herself with several MCAs in different public gatherings.
"Tupatane tomorrow. Leadership is not for cowards," she captioned the photos.
The House is yet to vet the County Executive Committee members nominated by the governor.
Speaking at a local station earlier on Wednesday, Mwangaza claimed the MCAs had planned to use the pending Cabinet nominees to blackmail her.
"As a governor, I will not be intimidated by anyone because I swore to work for the people. I will not sit in the office to listen to the MCAs because I have to be with the people who voted for me," she said.
