ODM chairman John Mbadi on Thursday said he believes there is a mismatch in the docket placement of the CS nominees by President William Ruto.

Speaking in an interview with a local TV station on Thursday, Mbadi singled out the nominated Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development Miano Rebecca.

"You have picked a lady who many of us have agreed has done a good job at the geothermal, Miano Rebecca, then you take her to the East African community. "

In as much as the East African community docket is just as important, Mbadi says Miano would have best fit the Energy and petroleum docket.

"Why couldn't you take this lady to be in charge of energy where she has gained experience and expertise over the years," he said.

President William Ruto named Davis Chirchir to the Energy docket, a docket he was in before being removed.

"I don't even know how many Kenyans would even remember that he was in that docket. That means he never left a mark. So why are you returning him to the same ministry," posed Mbadi.

Chirchir served as the Energy and petroleum CS in the first government of former President Uhuru Kenyatta from 2013 to 2015.

Mbadi says some of the nominees are good. He singled out Treasury Cabinet secretary nominee Njuguna Ndung`u, saying he has the intellectual capacity for the job though his history is questionable.

Mbadi said some of President Ruto's nominees faced integrity issues of some of the nominees.

On integrity issues, he singled out Agriculture CS nominee Mithika Linturi, saying he was appointed when he had an active case in court.  The sexual assault case was withdrawn last week after they settled the matter out of court.

Another nominee that was roped in in Mbadi`s list is Aisha Jumwa who has been nominated to the Gender docket.

Jumwa was facing a Sh19 million corruption case but the charges were dropped by DPP recently.

Mbadi says the public service is in need of serious reforms, adding that the main reason there is inefficiency in Kenya is because of the public service.
