Mwingi student beats classmate to death

A Form One student at Ndaluni Secondary school in Mwingi West on Monday beat his classmate to death during a fight. 

Mwingi West OCPD Kazungu Charo confirmed the incident and said the deceased fell unconscious during the fight and died.

"As he was being rushed to Mwingi level 4 hospital, he died on the way," he said.

Charo said the culprit has since been arrested and is held at Migwani Police cells pending further investigations.

"What was reported to us is the death of the student and not what led to his death. Thus, call for more investigations to as ascertain the genesis of the fight and where the school officials were at during this disturbing occurrence," he stated.

The OCPD wondered how teachers and fellow students failed to notice and stop the fight between the two students.

The police boss condoled with the family of the deceased and affirmed that he will ensure justice is served to the family.
