The change of guard at the Kenya Ferry Services has started to yield fruit.
The management has said tourists’ vehicles heading to the South Coast and those crossing to the island will not queue.
Hundreds of tourists have in the past missed their flights over delays at the only Likoni Channel.
KFS acting managing director Bakari Gowa said tourists’ vehicles will not queue like other vehicles.
Gowa took over in January after Hassan Musa was sacked.
“Tourists’ vehicles will be given priority to cross from the island to the South Coast,” Gowa said.
He said they will provide services as expected to help customers and businesspeople.
Gowa spoke after meeting Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and other executives in Kwale on Tuesday.
Tourism is just picking up after months of going without business due to insecurity, he said.
Present were Governor Salim Mvurya, Tourism executive Adan Sheikh, Jacaranda Indian Ocean manager Ann Safari and Hill Park Hotels manager Gorge Mokaya.
