Kenya’s petroleum sales recorded slight shifts between January and September in 2024 and 2025, according to new data from the Petroleum Institute of East Africa (PIEA).
Gas oil remained the most consumed petroleum product in both years, with volumes rising from just under two million cubic metres in 2024 to slightly above two million cubic metres in 2025.
Premium gasoline also saw an increase, growing from about 1.45 million cubic metres in 2024 to around 1.65 million cubic metres in 2025, reflecting steady demand from motorists.
Fuel oils, however, remained relatively stable, with only minor variations across the two years.
Kerosene consumption continued to be the lowest among the listed products, though it showed a slight uptick in 2025.
