Google has released its Year in Search 2025 for Kenya, highlighting the topics, people, and ideas that captured the nation’s attention.
Among the standout trends were not only political figures and athletes but also words and phrases reflecting a deeper curiosity among Kenyans about meaning, culture, and global events.
At the top of the trending meanings list was “Enigma.” The term, which refers to a mysterious or inexplicable person or event, was frequently associated with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Following his death on October 15, Kenyans used the word to describe his complex political maneuvers, his ability to remain a central figure despite setbacks, and his knack for forming unexpected alliances.
