The International Day Against Transnational Organised Crime is marked every year on 15 November.

It is a global call to recognise and confront the growing threat posed by criminal networks that operate across borders.

The day was established in March 2024 through UN General Assembly Resolution 78/267.

It seeks to raise awareness of transnational organised crime and its impact on communities, economies and global security.

It also honours victims and survivors, including law enforcement officers and justice personnel who risk their lives in the fight against criminal networks.

The UN notes that the day encourages closer collaboration among governments, civil society, the media and academia to strengthen collective action.

The global observance underscores the need to reinforce legal systems, promote accountability and build resilient communities capable of preventing and responding to organised crime.
