
A survey by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Africa Talent Trends 2025) shows that improved career opportunities abroad are the main reason African professionals move to other countries, accounting for 29 percent of responses.
Nineteen per cent cited international work experience, while 12 per cent moved to acquire a foreign educational certificate.
Improved salary or remuneration attracted 11 per cent, and 7 per cent sought a better quality of life for their children.
Other reasons included political concerns, better work-life balance, and education systems.
Notably, 70 per cent of African professionals plan to relocate to another country or location in the future.
