Counties where east number of babies are delivered by skilled providers: Bottom 10

Nandi County holds the unfortunate distinction of having the lowest proportion of deliveries assisted by skilled health providers in Kenya, with a mere 11.7%.

This places it at the bottom of the "Bottom 10" list, which highlights counties with the least access to professional maternal healthcare.

Following closely is Elgeyo Marakwet at 34.4%, indicating significant challenges in accessing safe childbirth services in these regions.

The issue of low-skilled attendance is widespread, as evidenced by the high numbers for other counties on the list.

Bomet and Baringo report 37.4% and 39.2% respectively.

Even at the higher end of the bottom ten, counties like Kiambu and Murang’a still struggle, recording only 53.5% and 54.1% of deliveries assisted by skilled providers.

The percentages clearly indicate the urgent need for targeted interventions to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes and increase the presence and accessibility of trained health personnel across these counties.
