An audit of Kenya’s infrastructure spending for the financial year 2023/2024 reveals a troubling picture of stalled and abandoned projects worth Sh495 million.

These include classroom developments, libraries, and multipurpose halls across seven constituencies.

Bomachoge Borabu leads with Sh73 million lost to incomplete classrooms, while Homa Bay Town’s Ogande Girls Library accounts for Sh40 million.

Kapsaret’s various halted projects total Sh61 million, and Matayos faces dual setbacks: Sh48 million for Lwanya Girls’ administration block and Sh86 million for Mundika High’s multipurpose hall.

Luanda’s classroom projects stalled at Sh54 million, and Bumula tops the list with Sh133 million sunk into primary school developments.

These figures highlight systemic inefficiencies in project execution and oversight, raising concerns about accountability and value for money.
