The European Union has introduced a new Entry/Exit System (EES) to replace manual passport stamping.
It will electronically record the entry and exit of non-EU nationals traveling to Schengen countries.
The system captures biometric data, including fingerprints and facial images, along with travel details.
It aims to enhance security, prevent illegal immigration, and track overstays.
Travelers may experience longer processing times initially as the system is implemented.
The EES is expected to be fully operational across all EU external borders by late 2025.
