President William Ruto has appointed an 18-member panel to oversee compensation for victims of protests and riots held since 2017.
The team will be chaired by legal scholar Makau Mutua, with Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo as vice chair.
Other notable members include Solicitor General Kennedy Ogeto and Amnesty International Executive Director Irungu Houghton.
The panel will develop a comprehensive operational framework for compensation, verify and categorise victims, and cover both civilians and security personnel.
Beneficiaries include individuals who suffered bodily harm during protests and riots over the past eight years.
