The two most agreed-upon factors were transport costs and weather conditions, with 86% and 84% of respondents agreeing, respectively.
These figures highlight the critical roles that logistics and climate play in determining the cost of goods.
Other major contributing factors include input prices (56% agree), such as seeds and fertiliser, and supply chain disruptions (57% agree).
Additionally, 70% of respondents agreed that distance to the market and product availability affect prices.
The impact of labour costs, US trade tariffs, and middlemen/brokers was also noted, although with lower levels of agreement compared to the top two factors.
