
Australia records the lowest rate of intimate partner violence, with only 1.5% of ever-married or partnered women aged 15-49 experiencing violence in the past 12 months.
This is according to data from the UNAIDS Global AIDS update 2025. Montenegro and Indonesia follow with similarly low rates of 2.9% and 3.0%, respectively.
Other countries in the bottom 10 include Turkmenistan (3.4%), Philippines (4.1%), Comoros (4.5%), Cambodia (5.6%), Bhutan (5.6%), South Africa (6.4%), and Mauritania (6.4%).
These statistics indicate a significantly lower prevalence of IPV in these regions compared to the global average.
