Signs of overdose include slow or irregular breathing, unconsciousness, and unresponsiveness.

Other symptoms may be pale or clammy skin, blue lips or fingertips, and vomiting.

Pupils may appear very small (pinpoint) in opioid overdoses.

You are advised to call emergency services immediately if you suspect an overdose.

In addition, it is recommended that you try to keep the person awake and breathing if possible.

If trained and available, administer naloxone in cases of opioid overdose. Do not leave the person alone until medical help arrives.
