According to the Media Council of Kenya's 2023/2024 State of the Media Report, social media remains the primary source of news for Kenyans, with 37% of respondents citing it as their main news medium.
Television follows at 31%, while radio is used by 26% of respondents for news.
These findings underscore the continued dominance of traditional media in Kenya's news consumption landscape.
The report also highlights regional variations: urban residents show a higher preference for television, whereas rural dwellers tend to favour radio.
Other sources, such as newspapers and online news websites, account for 1% and 2% respectively.
