According to the Missing Voices Annual Report 2024, a majority of enforced disappearances reported involved police officers.
Out of the 55 recorded cases, 82% (45 cases) were linked to regular police officers.
The Anti-Terror Police Unit was associated with 4.7% (2 cases), while 6.11% (3 cases) of the perpetrators remained unknown.
Enforced disappearance refers to the arrest, detention, or abduction of a person by state agents or those acting with the state's support, without disclosing the person's whereabouts.
The report raises concerns over accountability and the role of security agencies in human rights violations.
