Road accidents: Fatalities by sex

A report by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) shows a concerning rise in road fatalities from October to December 2023 to October to December 2024.

Male casualties increased from 858 in the same period in 2023 to 1,043 in 2024.

Female fatalities, however, saw a slight decline, from 185 to 163.

Factors such as speeding, reckless driving, and inadequate adherence to traffic laws likely contribute to this trend.
