All Kenyans using the prepaid meter token must update their devices before August 31, Kenya Power has said.
The current pre-paid electricity metering software (standard) introduced back in 1993 will expire in November this year, for all prepaid electricity meters.
All prepaid meters that will not have been updated by the deadline date will stop accepting the tokens after the deadline date.
Kenya Power Managing Director Joseph Siror on Wednesday unveiled how Kenyans using the prepaid token will update their meter tokens.
The company will closely monitor the exercise to identify and address emerging issues.
