President William Ruto Thursday effected several promotions and changes in the Kenya Defence Forces.
Vice Chief of Defence Forces Charles Muriu Kahariri was Promoted to General and named the new Chief of Defence Forces.
He replaces the late Gen Francis Ogolla who perished in a chopper crash on April 18.
Kenya Airforce commander Major General John Omenda was promoted and named the Vice Chief of Defence Forces.
Major General Fatuma Ahmed was named the commander of Kenya Airforce to succeed Maj Gen Omenda.
Fatuma becomes the first woman to hold such a position.
