President William Ruto's UDA party has sent a shortlist of 15 names to Parliament as the battle for the five EALA slots intensifies.
The names include the former Secretary General of Ruto's defunct United Republic Party (URP) Fred Muteti and ex-Mombasa senator Hassan Omar.
Muteti, who also served as the Sports Kenya Board Chairman, was compelled by Ruto to step down from the Makueni parliamentary race in the last election.
Omar lost in his bid to become the second governor of Mombasa on the UDA ticket.
