FAKE: This Equity Bank poster advertising 13 job positions is not authentic

A post on Facebook alleging that Equity Bank is hiring for 13 different positions is fake.

The statement posted on October 23, 2023, is advertising for 13 job positions with each position having the academic qualification one should have to qualify.

The statement adds that the applicants are meant to fill the vacant positions across all Equity Bank branches in the 47 counties.

Interested Kenyans are instructed to send their application consisting of a detailed CV and Cover Letter to [email protected] no later than 28 October 2023.

“Apply only once and for a single position ONLY. Shortlisting will be done on a rolling basis and communication made through email addresses. Check your email address regularly,” reads part of the job poster.

To confirm whether the job poster was authentic, we skimmed through Equity Bank’s official social media handles and came across a post dismissing the job poster as fake.

“FAKE JOBS ALERT. Please be informed that this job advert is not legitimate. Be vigilant and avoid sharing personal or banking information with fraudsters,” the bank warned job seekers. 

They cautioned unsuspecting Kenyans to only view job opportunities on their official website by clicking on the careers section. 

However, there are currently no jobs on the career section of the Equity Bank website. A skim through the bank’s social media pages shows that there are no vacant job openings.
