Some officers in the National Police Service are said to be unhappy with the leadership in the country over what they say is skewed promotion and deployment. The officers complain that strategic posts in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, DCI, Traffic, Weighbridges and secondment to key installations and offices are allegedly dished out on ethnic consideration with a particular community being the main beneficiary. They argue that merit is no longer a key consideration. They are now reportedly demanding for an end to favouritism.

However, area resident say the fight is just but a battle of egos, which is derailing development in the county.
