Is the recent declaration of salary increase a move aimed at boosting the morale of police officers? Well, last week's protests over the new tax measures appears to have served as a wake-up call to the bosses. We are told most officers including their seniors in some regions have purportedly been silently supporting the demonstrations but do not want to be known for fear of reprisal.
